How do I add users to my SharePoint site?

Solution
SharePoint users must first be registered on the server before they can be added to a SharePoint 2003 site. You may use the SharePoint Users Manager from within our Customer Portal for this procedure.
Once users are registered to the server you may then add them into your SharePoint site and assign permissions.
Usernames must be at least 4 characters in length and Passwords must be at least 6 characters in length and contain at least 1 number. (password30)

This is new with SharePoint 2003 (2.0) and by design from Microsoft as with SharePoint Team Services 1.0 did not have this requirement and allowed the dynamic creation of users. Microsoft has taken away this ability in this new version of SharePoint. For us to maintain licensing requirements by Microsoft, please register users in the fashion mentioned above.
