You receive a Primary FileGroup is Full Error when visiting your site or running an SQL Query.

The Information contained in this article applies to:
SQL 2000
SQL 2005
Database Space

You receive the following error:

Could not allocate space of object 'xxxxxx' in database 'xxxxxx' because PRIMARY filegroup is Full.  Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup,......

This is caused by the database growing to the limits set by your hosting plan.  The free SQL 2005 Database has a limit of 175MB and SQL 2000 has a limit of 250MB.  These allocations are shared between your Database Data and Log File.

This error may indicate you require additional disk space if you cannot free any space and shrinking the database does not work.  All databases are set to "Auto Shrink".
